Happy Halloween!

Fun jokes with Anna

Our friend, Consolee, sent two of her girls over to return a pan... little did they know it was a Halloween party they were walking into!  They had fun joining in on the games.  This is Fidelita walking the land mine field with her team.

Sweet Liv

Did you know lemon juice, paper and fire can make a pretty fun invisible ink clue?

After finding their treasure - a great candy exchange!

Following & solving clues to find the treasure!
Just a classic game of pin the nose on the pumpkin

Livi directing Lauren through the land mine

Sophie summing up the day perfectly

Anna guiding Soph through the land mine

Sometimes the clues took a little effort

Invisible ink discovery!
Sweet little Roy enjoying some Whoppers... she's Consolee's youngest kiddo.

My favorite moment of the day!  Annonciate wanted to try the pin the nose on the pumpkin game!  It was hilarious!!!!

Rick teaching about preparing beans to the students.
We took a class field trip to Gisukuru, near the forest.  Rick is a forest guide, a self-taught hydro-electrical engineer, a farmer, a health care advocate, a nursery school teacher and so many other things.  He is one of the most energetic, ambitious people I've ever met.  He invited us to come visit his home and the nursery school he teaches at.  We learned all about how eucalyptus trees heat the fires to dry the tea leaves, how to care for animals, the history of the area and much, much more.  He gave the kids 2 bunnies that he had raised and his lovely wife, Louise, made the kids some Rwandan crafts out of banana leaves.  It was a fun day!
Learning life skills in nursery school.

The nursery school

We learned that tea plants produce flowers and then large seeds.
The craft gifts given to us.  The round wreath is actually banana leaves carefully wrapped around eggs.
We took some of the eucalyptus leaves to cook up and breathe.
Joel has been fighting a nasty cold - maybe two different viruses - for the past 5 weeks.  He was desperate to feel better.  Finally.... the Better Together meeting happened and one of the family practice docs, Dave Fryman, suggested that Joel may need some antibiotics.  The first day of treatment, Joel felt so much better!  Praise God for meds.
Our friend, Peter, graduated and invited us to his graduation party.  He has an incredibly inspiring story and works as the secretary to the hospital director.
