We had a very special weekend get-away to celebrate our anniversary. We spent a night at Nyungwe Forest Lodge & were pampered with amazing food, hikes through the tea fields, relaxation by the fire, even a foot massage at the spa!
Thank you to our sweet friend, Bachu - the head chef at the lodge - who gave us a royal treatment! He surprised us with too much amazing food - even surprise dishes we had not ordered! He baked this special cake for us & brought it to us accompanied by the entire kitchen staff. And thank you to our amazing friends, Lauren & Rachel, who took care of our kiddos overnight! Hope they had fun building a fort & watching movies & eating popcorn! We will look forward to returning next year - to see the smoke fall on the rainforest mountains, to hear the thunder & listen to the rain fall, to smell the tea fields & simply enjoy the solitude and peace. What a gift.
